http://schess26.wordpress.com Just another WordPress.com weblog Fri, 24 Oct 2008 16:59:40 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.com/ http://s2.wp.com/i/buttonw-com.png http://schess26.wordpress.com http://schess26.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/grieving-and-learning/ http://schess26.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/grieving-and-learning/#comments Fri, 24 Oct 2008 16:59:40 +0000 schess26 http://schess26.wordpress.com/?p=7 ]]> On April 12, 2008  I lost my grandmother.  She lived with me from birth and I contribute my success thus far to her patience and love.  Throughout my grief and trying to forget I have learned a lot.  In life people often forget how short life is, that time is not promised, and to live everyday to the fullest.  Losing her made me take every opportunity that was given and live.  I mean really live.  Trips, taking chances, and stepping outside the box.  She gave me a wonderful life as long as she could.  Now it is up to me to honor her life and live mine in the best way possible.  Death isn’t a complete ending.  It can help be the beginning of a life without the person but it is also the beginning a new life.  Often life teaches you lessons the hard way.  And I am by no means saying death is a way of punishing someone.  I am however, saying that death can teach you the value of life.  Don’t waste your time or energy on something or someone that doesn’t make you happy.  Today could be your last chance at success, happiness, and true fulfillment.  You must see it that way and not procrastinate on achieving your dreams, you only have one life to live.
